I know there a few threads about Mirpur weddings but they are all quite old, I wanted to relight this topic and start a new thread with new info for all to-be brides going to Mirpur Azad Kashmir sometime in the near future.
I am going to Mirpur to get married early next year and I desperately need help from others that have already been regarding info about:
-Good makeup artist/bridal service/hair etc… I need a good makeup artist and not one that makes me look like a ghost! lol - they have the tendency to use really light coloured foundation dont they?!
-Good photograper (and I mean good - the one that knows how to make me look good in all shots! lol)
-Good shops to get a decent lengha - any gals know if I can get a lengha tailored from scratch in 2weeks? (probably a bit too much to ask for?!). Also, I hear lots of the lenghas they stock are ready to take away then and are free size, how do free size items work? i.e. if I am smaller than their max free-size do they re-cut and re-sew or just sew in? I’m just worried the shape might get affected like this. Anyone know what size is their freesize BEFORE any adjustments?
Any help would be much appreciated. Again, I know there are threads about this subject already but I need some recent info.

a videographer tht makes the video with soooooo many close ups of guests chest :o
decor i dnt think will be a problem ive read on one of the pages that theres some place in mirpur main shopping area which you can get all your stuff in regards to wedding decore
this place also cropped up in one of the threads in regards to clothing libas-e-fashion in mirpur, i have no idea what this place is like
ive just come back from Pak in Nov 2011 and trust me when i say Mirpur is the most expensive shopping area in Pak i would say. All they want to do is rob you blind. If you guys want to do wedding shopping for OTT clothes go to Pindi it’s cheap around there and they accept haggling unlike mirpur were thy have a fixed price system. If you want nice footwear go to Jhelum metro thy have wicked footwear, but dnt buy clothes from there it’s another rip off joint

Mirpur is sooooo expensive my hubby went there in march 2011 and did manage to get a few discounts though but that is maybe because he was from there and knew what rate they sell local people things
He got most stuff from Dina ( near jhelum ) they accept haggling
well we haggle everywhere! my hubz auntie is from dina ( siddhay village )
and she doesnt stop till they drop atleat a 5k off the bill!
They have really nice artificial jewellery shops there and they are cheaper and you can haggle all you want
just try to take someone from there with you

i prefered the shopping and haggling in pindi to be truthful felt as though i gt a bargin on the clothes, but i think the stitching dwn our ends is much cheaper than there.
We took my mums aunt when we wnt shopping but some of the shop keepers are so up thmslves. My cousin tld me whos frm pak tht thy rip u guys off becuz thy think if thy can afford to giv £30 to charity thy can pay top wack to us too…:grumpy: i was so angry when i heard this…
i brought some real nice small jewellery sets from pindi too, thy were so lovely :wub:
I went Dina too didnt do any shopping there, ive also heard lahore is cheap

try murey road and sadar rd down pindi (watch out for the pervs hahaha)
Tht saqib guys is a twat in tht case he clearly isnt reading wht were writting more like for the money, trust me these guys will charge top dollar cuz thy knw were desperate ur best bet is to shop around ill keep u posted if i find any good places.
im still waiting a reply too... im a little superised bcuz when u tend to be flying out of the UK most ppl r heading twards mirpur end...yet no feedback
I got married in Mirpur - I used Depilex in Mirpur - brilliant service and everyone commented on the good job she did..... Reasonable rates and very honest opinions..... Also got my lenghas from Mirpur - didnt have time to get designed - so went into a couple of the shops - liked the colour and design - went back in 2 days for a fitting.....
