Madhanee: what do “Mirasi” and “Kanjar” mean? although i read somewhere above, " Madhanee is a Mirasi, while Roman is a Kanjar" but im trying to figure out the exact meaning.

These terms define a trade based caste system (social grouping) prevalent in the entertainment sector of the Indian subcontinent among Muslims of north India. Mirasi is a caste of Musicians, and Kanjar is a caste of Dancers (however, the managing agents – non-dancers; e.g., brothers, other sisters, parents, etc.- of the dancers are also part of Kanjar Biradri (or kinship).

There is a tendency among the ignorant that Kanjar or Mirasi makes a subtle insulting way to address someone, but you ask a Kanjar or a Mirasi, they are proud to be Kanjar or Mirasi. Just as Blacks don’t take an offense to being called Blacks, and I consider it a compliment when people call me Mirzai. I am proud to be one.

oh............ this is a news to me. i also thought these were bad words. this is so surprising but where is this community now? do they still exist? (in reality) or were they there in the old times and now these terms have come to be understood as bad words (for whatever reasons)

oh yeah and about Mirzai, my dad told me about a friend of his. he told me they were declared non-muslims by GOP?? he told me his friend was a very nice hearted person. i havent met or spoken to him but he gave me his contact number incase i ever need any assistance from him.
