Ranjhan you baffle me. You are against hairdressers, and chefs. They are professions that are beneath what? Beneath landlord families?
You mean the landlord families who, for the most part, are directly responsible for the average Pakistani villager's ignorance and zulm upon the rest of the world?
Then you say that Junoon, etc are for enjoyment and means to entertainment, but I gather you don't think they should be respected?
If you don't respect them, then why use them as a means for entertainment?
You are so out of whack.
And since when do these singers and bands come into the category of Mirasi or Kanjars??
I'm sorry, no one seems to be responding to you. I guess people here just take it for a given to ignore your ignorant and offensive posts.
You either have comprehension problems dear or I can’t express myself properly…
I was talking about how Pakistani society views them, looking down on chefs and hairdressers are not my own views, I personally think it’s a very backward mentality, I think they are both fine professions. I’ve had lots of catering summer jobs myself, it’s not chefing but it’s the same department, even below when it comes to salary, as long as it’s Halaal that’s all that should really matter.
However I do look down upon singing, dancing and prostitution, in Pakistan people who do these things are viewed as a separate caste but I don’t agree with that, no such thing as caste because all are created equal, to me it’s no more than a profession if they leave it then they are no longer Kanjar or Meraasi.
How is singing done by Junoon, Ali Zafar, and other modern day pop-rock groups to be looked down upon? How are you grouping it together with dancing and prostitution?
Wow, Ali Azmat a whore. Never thought of him in that way.
Singing, dancing, prostitution and acting (yes i added another one in there.)
These are the four primary proffessions that are adopted by the Maraasis and the Kanjars. All of these proffessions have one thing in common. They are all means of providing worthless and time consuming entertainment, and nothing more. Hence these people are looked down upon. The person will be classified as Maraasis or Kanjars, regardless of whether the erson is an NFAK-wannabe qawwal or a Steven Tyler.
Acting and singing should not be looked down upon. These mediums have the ability to affect thought and actions of other human beings. You sing about peace, people will want peace. You sing about war, people will want war. Even the Prophet didn't say no to motivational war chants and songs.
Also, people can sing naats. Are those guys also Mirasis? I dont think so.
Ali Azmat doesn't sing about crap. He sings about real issues. Junoon as well. NFAK sings about God.
Its narrow-minded mullah-like guys like you that think this way.
