well i was reading it somewhere and i tought i should ask you all this too:cb:
Name any/all the products you’ve used that actually do what they say they do! Normally you see ads for products and they claim they can do something, but when you try it out, it doesn’t really seem to work as well as it should.
If you’ve come across any skincare/haircare products that actually DO work, list them here!:halo:
My list:
Garnier Skin Naturals (Pure A) intensive night treatment gel: I use this whenever I get a zit and it actually does work overnight to visibly reduce the redness. Just used some last night on a spot and it’s so much less obvious this morning . Garnier Fructis shampoo + conditioner + conditioning hair mask: These 3 products really do leave my hair feeling softer and looking shinier.
MAC Studio Fix: I love this compact powder foundation. It covers up all my imperfections, and my skin still looks natural and bright.
Vaseline: Really a miracle product. I use it on my lips, knees, elbows and the soles of my feet. It does help dry skin.
Marks & Spencer Cocoa Butter and Vanilla hand and nail cream: I have dry hands (which I hate), but since I started using this on a daily basis my hands have become a lot softer.
Philiosophy's Hope in a Jar Moisturizer
This is brilliant, it makes my skin glow :)
Carmex Lip Balm
This has salicylic acid, it gets rid of dry lips!
Sure Active Response Deodorant Stick in cotton fresh
I have tried a load of different brands and this particular one is great, I don't sweat (not that I do normally) and it smells nice.
Dove Cream Oil Body Wash Pure Silk and Macadamia Nut Oil
Smells LOVELY and doesn't leave my skin dry!
Neutrogena Moisturising Sunblock: It moisturises my skin aswell as protecting it from the sun, and it doesn't feel oily at all.
Palmers Cocoa Butter lip balm: Really soothing and smells amazing.
Thats all I can think of for now, oh and like Sheen mentioned, vaseline is a miracle worker .
Baby Johnsons lotion - it's the only lotion I use and it's the absolute beeeest and I just looove the smell
Skin is the largest organ and instead of topical applications that only work temporarily Y’ALL need to use Alpha-Lipoic-Acid & Acetyle L Carnitine in combination, Berkley Scientists discovered this as the best anti aging substance, Our bodies make it when we are young found in kidneys and liver, naturally occurs in Spinach and Blueberries.
From what he said and the article he linked… I don’t think it’s in a moisturizer. As he said, topical applications (ie things you apply to your skin) are temporary.
He was proposing eating these nutrients rather than rubbing them on the skin. He recommended spinach and blueberry.
My miracle product: Vaseline Problem Skin Therapy Cream.
Alpha Lipoic Acid comes in tablet form and Acetyl L Carnitine comes in capsules, you take it as a food supplement, this was written up in National geographic Magazine too.
The MD who recommends these is Dr Nicholas Perricone a Harvard Skin Specialist, he came on Public TV with three hour lecture has a book available.
There are some over the counter creams with ALA in them for blemish removal, but I prefer the supplements.
