ISLAMABAD: The Minister of Defence, Ahmed Mukhtar has ordered all private airline planes to be grounded, saying that they can only fly after technical inspection. It has also been decided to ground all faulty and out of order planes.
Private airline planes will undergo rigorous inspections from tomorrow after the Minister of Defence ordered Director General of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to inspect the fleet of private airliners.
Mukhtar said it will take a couple of days to check all the planes, which will go through the same fitness procedures of PIA. He further said a probe of the Bhoja Air incident will be finalised within three to four weeks.

Although a step in right direction but keeping in mind the performance of this govt i think this step is to increase their income, i.e. from CAA official to the MoD everyone is going to take their fair share before issuing clearance to any or all the air-crafts, i hope i am wrong and they are sincere to find out about the faulty planes

good times for PIA while all other airlines will be just on ground, and may be that overpriced business train will make some money too.
A bit too harsh step. instead they should ask private arilines to fly only the planes which have a clearence certificate. instead of redoing it first target the ones who dont have it. and CAA should do an internal on how coe not all planes have the clearence

Exactly what I was thinking, if they really were sincere about security they would've been conducting these investigations throughout the year, but now they got good opportunity to mint money, the one who pays more will get clearance earlier.

I hope Railways takes advantage of this situation as reputation of PIA is not much different than private airlines.
There you go. It is best times for Railways to attract customers and earn some money. Once upon a time 99% traveled in Railway. Only 1% rich elite class or highest government officials used to travel by air.

This is a good decision and it should have been taken right after the recent crash, but still I support it as the planes need to be checked since there were two near misses yesterday.

No, what we want is beyond jiyalas, so my answer is not going to be any good for your consumption.
For rest of Pakistanis, if they really are concerned they should completely block all air traffic, conduct safety/security of operations of all planes, not just private airline planes.

Just to make sure that planes are inspected right, a senior official of this govt or from CAA should be on all the flights...
i Thought the Inspection part comes well before the Aircraft gets the clearance to be used in Air Traffic .... Atleast in Germany there are different types of Technical Supervision Authorities (TÜV) which are even entitled to even shut down a business if it's posing any risk/danger to Human Life or Environment

I take his statement just to satisfy a little awam. Oh we are doing something days pass everything run on same old pattern in middle of this ministry of defence earn from both sides PIA only in function get earn and a lum sum getting from private air lines to run business again. We remain live in middle of life and death.

What is concering here is that Bhoja airlines got a license to fly a grounded plane. Along with inspection, investigation should revolve around how they got the license.
