I was just wondering if anyone knew what the acceptable salary levels are for professionals in Pakistan. For instance, if you are an engineer working at a private company, what are the salaries? Even a general figure would help. I’m mainly looking for salaries for Chemical Engineers. Thanks.

hmm, it varies, good companies pay good, a fresh graduate usually start range from
15000 PKR - 25000 PKR per month. it can be higher or less than that. depend entirely on the company, usually you get a good rise when you have completed a probation period, in a year or two you can get a car from the company too.
a engineer in a good company with some years experience can earn more than 50K per month to 100K p/m.
try BASF, ICI, Rupali polyster, all depends what you are expert in.

What is a median salary in for a nice life in Karachi ? I have been told that if one makes about 30,000 per month than it is ok. Is that true. I am talking about only a couple with no kids.
