how many of you lot have had experience with mineral makeup? and which one in your opinion is the best? are they actually of any use?

I tried the Bare Minerals starter kit, and didn't like it much. It made my face itchy and clogged my pores. I thought I would try it since I've heard so many good reviews, but it didn't suit my skin. I did a little research after and found out that an ingredient called Bismuth Oxychloride can cause skin irritation. Some women are allergic to it.

yeaa my mum used bare minerals, she loved it.. still uses it... i use pure minerals and its okay i guess... nothing extravagant although it duz cover up my marks...the only reason id continue to use it is coz i dont breakout like i do with liquid foundation

I tried Everyday Minerals because:

  1. It feels very light.
  2. Gives a sheer everyday natural look.
  3. It was a free trial!
  4. For those that have a breakout issue… I haven’t heard of anyone getting breakouts from it..

Yeah if you are attending a wedding/parties etc I’d recommend a foundation which will give you more coverage. I got the EM free sample kit. It’s free! you just have to pay for the shipping.

i discovered this really late that i am really allergic to it...i mean i knew i was allergic to dust and maybe the fact that minerals are pretty much like dust particles? everytime i wore it my nose kept itching and I kept sneezing! i also think it broke me out.

Bare Minerals is okay...the problem I encountered is it has a tendency to look cakey on me.

i was talking to one of my friends recently and she said shes tried alot of mineral makeups and the best she found was a brand called inika… she was wearing it on the day and she does tend to have alot of marks but she looked good in it!! i was thinkin of giving that a try… anyone tried inika minerl makeup??? I have been using BE minerals for over 2 years now and love them. I think they work very well on combination skin.

Love the body mineral makeup- gives the flawless and smoooth finish without the cakey look and lasts a while! Very good for asian tones and pale skin.

Bare minerals is good- they were one of the first companies that actually intoduced the mineral range worldwide- gives good coverage but to be honest there are so many other products that are so much cheaper and just as good.. some are even better that give a lot more coverage.. and yes one of my clients also said the same thing about skin irritation.

I've been using Bare Minerals for over a year now, and really like it. In fact, I ran out a couple months ago and started using my Prescriptives foundation again, and it just felt so odd on my skin and caused me to break out!

I've found the Bare Minerals works best when you use their Primer as well.

^ for me it was the brush that made all the difference, my friend didnt like it so she gave it to me..it was okay nothign spectacular. But then I tried applying with one of their b rushes and it was great...recently got the starter kit again, but in one shade lighter and its perfect.
