Mind-boggling investigative video recording by Al Jazeera on cricket match fixing…Mumbai and UAE are the biggest match fixing centers. 60-70% of all T-20 leagues including IPL are fixed plus certain sessions in test matches are also fixed. Even India-Aus and India-Eng test matches in '17 were spot fixed. Are English and Aussie cricket boards going to take some action presuming evidences provided in the report are correct?
sad but these gangs are now fixing test match sessions as well i.e india-Aus and India-Eng test matches had session fixed per the video above with clear evidences…and there is no end to it and it cannot be controlled especially the spot fixing part. T20 is the easiest one to fix and there are so many leagues going on. when you have have no chance to play international cricket anymore and here comes a chance to make half a million in 10-15 days, 8 out of 10 players will take it. at lot of these players have never seen this kind of money, so they are willing to take the risk…
consider this…I heard Watson played one of the best T20 innings in IPL final yesterday but he scored zero run on the first 10 balls. ZERO and after those 10 balls he started to time the ball as good as anyone and scored almost 120 odd runs on next 45balls or so..will you be surprised if he was offered $500K for not scoring any run on first 10 balls? maybe not but now everything is suspicious especially these T20 leagues. IPL has the biggest clout followed by PSL and Bangladesh league with so much money involved at every level but how to assure these matches are clean? there is no way, either get rid of these fuckin leagues or get used to cooked results
IPL is actually mother of match fixing. People like Lalit Modi and Dhoni are/were deeply involved in corruption. But i guess with a few one off incidents, this thing will keep going on. Corruption has seeped into Cricket and i have no trust or faith in the game left anymore. I still recall the world cup final between India and Srilanka. It was a highly suspicious match and many sources reported that most top lankan players had sold out that game. who knows?
This latest win of Pak against England felt dodgy to say the least. Matches are not fixed only when Pak loses. At times there is far more money to be made when Pak pulls off an unexpected win. England dropped close to 8 catches if not more, batted so poorley, bowled horribly . now 95% chance is that Pak england match was clean but hey, al jazeera report clearly saying that few english players spot fixed india-england test match in 2017. those names have been provided to english board but English board wants more proof.
The question is what concrete actions are these boards taking? I’m sure had it been any board like Pakistan, SL, BD etc ICC would have killed them by now, by threatening if not officially
so people who were googoo gaagaa over Pakistan’s trio’s being caught, what do they think now? Many of us believed that they were trapped/exposed to malign Pakistan cricket only while others continued to enjoy the ‘benefits’ of fixing but Pakistan-haters did not believe that.
To the best of my knowledge, based on what I read in espncricinfo it is Aussies and English. I was against the imorisonment of the Pak cricketers at the time. And stated nomwestern cricketer has ever been sent to jail,for such offenses. Truth needs to found and the same punishment meted out to anyone found cheating.
I am reallly confused. not sure what is your basis for saying that those 3 Pakistani cricketers were innocent and that it was a conspiracy to malign pakistan? because aamir himself confessed. and finally that sheetan salman butt finally confessed too. so not sure why do you think that it was a conspiracy? yes it was a trap by a newspaper but salman and co did take money to under-perform. sad but an undeniable reality and salman and asif were doing it for sometime. aamir however got trapped by other 2
so in my opinion the right logic will be…just like those 3 Pakistanis who sold their motherland for some money, English and aussie cricketers shd be punished as well if there are valid proofs against them
