Agree 100%. He also repeated his mistake by referring to Indian Refuge for 5 crore Pakistanis. God forbid! Why should they go to india for refuge. This is their country and they are living happily with other communities. There are intermarriages between Sindhi - Muhajir and other communities. Two of my uncles got married in Urdu speaking families as early as in 1960’s. There is perfect harmony at general public level.

These political leaders are the real culprits who create hatred by stupid statements for sake of their own interests, bcoz in case of any worst situation, they don’t have to lose anything due to dual nationalities, assets in other countries and their children living outside Pakistan.

I don’t disagree with everything you have said, but to just blame political leaders is not enough. We need to have a system in place in Pakistan, where minorities feel secure. It is up to the Punjabi people to show greater tolerance towards minorities, and respect their culture. The 64 year history of Pakistan has seen concentration in the hands of a few beaurocrats in Islamabad. You need decentralise, give cities and provinces more power. I have relatives in North Nazimabad, and for the last 20 years their has been firing form the Pahari. The police do nothing, and unfortunately, it only after the MQM responds, that the firing stops. Most of the Karachi police is not recruited from Karachi, and the MQM have failed to change that. We need to have a localised police force. The quota system has to go, and money generated in Karachi has to be spent there. Unemployment is a big issue in Karachi, and it is fact that up country immigrants have depressed wages. Most people loosing their jobs are poor working Muhajirs in Orangi, Qasba Aligarh, Lalukhet etc. Now I accept MQM has done nothing to help them. But there are very genuine greivances, that need to be responded. What people want is jobs and security. Pakistan has failed to provide either to the people of Karachi. Almost a whole generation of middle class Muhajirs has immigrated.

So if you realy love your country, you need except an overly centralised country is bad. The politicians are partly responsible for the mess, the army and ISI, the civil servioe and an opinion among some Punjabis is all responsible for the chaos in Karachi. Blame them all, not just Altaf, Zardari, Mirza and Afsandiar.
