Only lack of funds and strong British pressure persuaded the PAF to acquire the British Supermarine Attacker
Again almost the same story but french aircraft are and were expensive so still a good choice by PAF to stick with Mirage 3 and Mirage 5 and get second hand machines cheaply. Now these are BVR capable with ROSE upgrade.F-1 was just a successor of Mirage-3.
That was built eventually as Mirage Re-Bulid factory.
F-104 was an interceptor while F-86 was almost a multirole aircraft.F-100 would have served the same purpose as F-86.Two different classes of planes with different roles.Being a Mach-2 plane,it was definitely something new in subcontinent and gave PAF a psychological edge.
In mid-1994 it was reported that the Russian manufacturers Sukhoi and Mikoyan were offering the Su-27 and MiG-29 to Pakistan.

PAF had chances of getting both SU-27 and Mig-29 from Ukraine and Poland but the deal couldnt conclude..PAF can still get SU-27 series through China and it has evaluated J-11 also.
