Its "extra" that really counts when it comes to militry and not the salaries.
With housing, electric, gas, car, servant, clubs, travel etc provided free (and some almost free), I am sure 50/60% of their pay goes directly to saving account. :)
A captain is now drawing 35,000 + Rs.

Electricity and gas isnt free.The rates are nominal.
TA/DA is provided on Transfers or official duties only.
Clubs, mess etc bills have to be paid.
Servant (NCB) although maybe free but hard to find, Army is not responsible for providing one,but paying for him.
Car(Staff or Star) is authorised to Brigadier or above ranks.
and ur 100% wrong that 50/60% salary goes in saving.
the salary stated for captain... is it after the 100 % raise that the army officers recieved in jan 2010. kindly come up with exact figure for major as well

pls dont be negative, i knew some forces persons and they are asking support from their families due less pay. Further pakistani forces people are having less pay even than sri lanka and india.
