Problems unique to Military Families, like we are never in one school for more than two or three years, so some end up in boarding schools,
Families on the move, leaving friends and family behind, put into situations where you are faced with making new friends in new schools.
For instance my schooling, first four years in one school, next two in another, next one & half in a third School and finally Metric in a fourth school.
any one else have same experience?

Would you care to share the tremendous amounts of benefits and advatanges that are only unque to milltary families, and benefits that most Pakistanis are struggling to get?

yup yara, this stuff is shared by almost all having observed or been associated in any way with military life at any stage. But with these experiences military familes grow up with a huge sense of familiarity with the ppl of all sorts and types all over the country, they learn to embrace changing conditions, new environs etc so better, and all this makes them often quite versatile, able and comfortable anywhere.

Some ppl get the best education, some gain best experience and try to attain a good life.
Soldiers undoubtedly work extremely hard to train and stay in the army, as a result the organization rewards them in certain ways that are not easiy available to the masses. But is it fair to say soldiers dont deserve it?
Ppl educated at good universities get good jobs and good lives, should it be fair to say they dont deserve it because not everyone can enjoy that for whatever reasons...!?
And btw, this is referring to the regular benefits of army life plus one plot availabe at retirment for an officer paid on installments and size of which depends on his service/career. The other myths are largely myths and mostly extremely rare. The military has thousands upon thousands of officers and men, if all were as corrupt as some say, nothing would have been left...
and btw, do you know what benefits the civil servants get? Do find out abt that and when you whine abt the military, throw some eggs against the bureaucrats and civil services officers too! they are absolutely no angels, and its their corruption that paralyzes Pakistan most of the time.

Not only the Defence forces, but almost all cvil servants too have to move around the country.
Children whose parent is in the Foreign service have to study in several countries with different History, Geography & educational standards.
I can understand the unhappiness of people like Haroon - the Pak army has overdone its privliges and hold on the resources of Pak.

As to the original question by the thread starter. Ive had my education in public schools of pakistan from Attock to Murree to Rawalpindi. It is always a little hard to adjust to new schools and surroundings in the beginning, but that was all part of the thrill. I have no regrets.
A lil excerpt from Musharraf's In The Line Of Fire (Page 31):
Froman Christian College was known as a college for anglicized "modern" students; Government College attracted the more studious types and Islamia the more earthy types. All three have produced many leaders for Pakistan in various fields because they keep their students grounded in native culture and history, quite unlike those boys who went to foreign universities, which have mostly produced political leaders disconnected from Pakistan's culture and history, leaders who have damaged the country, not only with their corruption but also with their alien political and economic philosphies

Those who step up to meet the defence needs of a country with their life and also pay Taxes In my humble opinion can expect more than those who even refuse to pay any Taxes to the national exchequer and are looking for a free ride.

I know one of my close relative, I hardly remember his kids stayed for one year in any station, they are just like mobile, so difficult for such children to adjust themselves to the alien environments so often.
As far as the privilegs are concern, what I have observed from my relative life, I will never ever opt for any such profession. I also know the standard of education in Army Public Schools,
A person who cant give any time to his family, his children, his parents, his sisters and brothers, who has devoted his whole life for his country and at the end he also sacrifice his generation (his kids).
I dont know what kind of privilges you are talking about, CMH's sub standard medicines or Army Public Schools sub standard education.

Yup, it's not everyone's cup of tea to be a soldier, dedicate life to the nation or a cause, train hard, be ready to die, watch your wife, kids, family live through the inconveniences of not having you around all the time, or living in fear for your safety or contsant movement, and, for working ten times harder than an avg citizen and facing other professional hazards, getting much less pay.
A soldier is a soldier, and the respect he gets is universal.
