Putting 40 soldiers in a fortified position makes sense.
The problem is that these aren't soldiers, these are Frontier Corps men. They aren't trained like soldiers, aren't armed like soldiers, aren't supposed to do heavy fighting.
The British Army would regularly put 40-50 soldiers in fortified positions and they would face 500-1000 attackers with minimal air and artillery support in Iraq (Al-Amarah) and Afghanistan (Musa Qaleh until the withdrawal in 2006). Soldiers are trained for this situation, paramilitaries are not.
I cannot understand why our government is treating paramilitaries like soldiers
Obviously these forts are no longer consiodered fortified when all it takes are some rockets to take them out...
