*An 8 year-old boy was hanged by militants in Afghanistan’s Helmand province after the boy’s father – a police officer in the southern city of Gereshk – refused to comply with militants’ demands to provide them with a police vehicle, officials said.
**Afghan President Hamid Karzai condemned the hanging, saying “this action is not permitted in any culture or any religions,” according to a statement Sunday, which provided details of the incident. Karzai said he has ordered local authorities to root out the militants and arrest them “as soon as possible.”
* The boy was kidnapped Friday. It was unclear when he was killed.

how about a mob putting a baby at the tip of the sword and letting the baby slide the length of the sword in Karachi? this happened in 1990's during ethnic strife. this will prolly qualify for the worst crime against humanity. i said prolly because i dunno any other worse act of violence against humans.

KKF are you sure about this news. I was in Karachi and never heard of this. No one has swords in karachi .. people use guns ..
plus in any of the ethnic violence of Karachi, till this day .. women and children were never targeted, at least not directly.
it happened in Aligarh Colony...i was very young at that time and i had heard this news. i'll try to find something on the net and put it here.
other heinous atrocities, as narrated by victims' families of Aligarh Colony, have been documented in one of the documentaries i watched on CBC [Canadian Broadcasting Corporation]. CBC is known for producing authentic and quality documentaries.

Are you sure this is true. I know many bad things happened in the late 80s and early 90s, but never heard of this.

Why bring up and post news that happened years and years ago KKF. Whether it happened or not is irrelevant to this current topic.
Today, many years later, after so much economic and scientific progress, after so many humanitarian organizations working for rights, when we still see stuff like this happen, it should make us want to rise up as a community and do something about it.

So what's your point? I have no doubt that there are other acts in the history of mankind that are worse than this incident or the one you mentioned. No one's claiming that this one is the worst.

I was here in 90's - gone through the whole operation scene but such thing never happened or at least never get reported - on the contrary in 1971 Mukhhti Bahani with Indian forces did commit such hideous crimes in Mirpur and other states of East Pakistan .. And who could forget what happened during the partition !

what militants because cnn says so how do we know they are not american mercenaries or military forces that did it? afghanistan is currently in turmoil with the americans, taliban and foreign fighters fighting each other and using propaganda in any way they can so which one hanged the poor boy as a muslim if find it very difficult to believe a muslim could do such a disgusting act against another muslim because it is not allowed under any islamic school of thought or principles.
How can humanbeings be so cruel?
