Terrible news of Militants attacking Karachi stock exchange. Thankfully from what I’m reading so far, there are no civilian casualties. I hope they investigate to the T and nail it down.
Multiple people dead after attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi
slamabad (CNN)At least five people have died after shots were fired at the Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi, according to rescue officials on Monday.
Policemen and security officials are among those confirmed dead, according to Mohammad Azeem, an official with the Edhi rescue center, a prominent local charity service.
Abid Ali, director of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, said in a media briefing on Geo News that four attackers entered the compound and started firing but were killed by security forces.
“There were four attackers who came from the parking lot, they threw a grenade at the main entrance of the KSE (stock exchange) and then started firing indiscriminately,” Ali said.
“The attackers were wearing uniform that looked like police uniforms, all four have been killed and the situation is currently under control.”
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) group has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to Maj. Gen. Omar Ahmed Bukhari, the director general of the Pakistan Rangers Sindh, a paramilitary force under command of the country’s military.
“We are investigating further, to find out who these people are,” Bukhari said.

Heard there were credible intelligence report of such attack already. I just question the strength of terrorists to plan and execute such attack. How are they still in a position to do so.

Those four attackers knew they wouldn't leave those gates alive once they would enter. Whether we like it or not, one needs solid reasons to put up such a fight. I have listened to BLA’s narrative for years which is also widely available on Youtube, and sorry to say that it is not entirely senseless. The Baloch population is very small even though Balochistan is the largest province by area. Five to six union councils (UCs) of any large city in Pakistan have more population so they are conveniently ignored, always. I think all genuine concerns of the people of Balochistan should be addressed before the big powers join the game overtly. I’m sure most Pakistanis would agree to those concerns but vested interests dismiss those issues as anti-Pakistan because they are a mafia that has always exploited the resources of Balochistan for their personal wealth accumulation.

All those attention seekers who cry out against 'injustices against the Baloch' by evil Punjabis (because somehow in their narrow mind Punjabi equals Pakistani) suddenly gone quiet. I have always found Baloch culture interesting and have no hatred or anything towards any ethnicity. I'm sick of those who claim they can't be Baloch and Pakistani and that they need their independence, f***off. Balochistan deserves more, no doubt about that, but to put (all) the blame on Pak is just pathetic. Focus on your Sardars too.

I view the term “terrorist” as a political label. One side’s terrorist is the other side’s freedom fighter. For too long the problems of Balochistan have been outsourced to the army which is the root cause of resentment there. Things have always gotten worse during military rule, with Pervais Musharraf’s rule being the worst which sowed the seeds that are now reaping thorny bushes. No matter how incompetent and corrupt the civilian governments have been, the situation in Balochistan has always improved under them. God forbid if your brother or father is picked up by some agency and then you find his tortured dead body a few days later, trust me you too will hate the ethnicity broadly making up the institution. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. That’s what the unchecked army involvement has done. We should have a big heart and take it easy. Saying anti-Pakistan things is not blasphemy, and we should try to understand the root cause so everyone can live in peace and with dignity that they deserve.

I don’t always trust the official truth so try to listen to all sides. The way a society deals with its trouble makers is what matters, because even Changaiz Khan treated loyalists nicely. The bottom line is that the Baloch people do not want to be turned into Red Indians in their own land.
All four attackers were killed by two undernourished Sindhi police constables. Their services have not yet been recognized. Had they Punjabi, Pakhtoon or Muhajir all bikau channels would have still trumpeting the songs of their praise. You always listen rangers have done this miracle. It is a shame. By the way BLA has full support of politicians from Baluchistan.
