**David Miliband has said there should be “no doubt” he is committed to Labour’s re-election bid after formally ruling himself out of a top EU job.**The foreign secretary has been linked for weeks to the new job of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs.
He told journalists he was “honoured” to be considered able to do the job but that the “only answer” was that his political future remained in the UK.
“I am committed to Britain and the Labour government,” he said.
Business Secretary Lord Mandelson, who has also been linked with the job, also ruled himself out, saying: “It is not a job I want to do”.
“I have had my spell in Brussels and now I home for good,” he told the BBC News Channel.
