So my daughter is 8 months old and she doesn’t roll over or sit up, when I sit her up she scoots her bum to lie down, I lie her on the carpet and surround her with toys and play with her. Until recently when I would put her in her gym she didn’t reach out for her toys either! She doesn’t touch her bottle when I’m feeding her either, she will occasionally hit it with one hand but that’s it!
I think you should discus this with her dr. Every child grows differently and reaches a milestone sooner or later . My daughter didn’t hold her bottle until like she was over a year old and i think it’s pretty common.
I did discuss it with her doctor last week, she did say she is 2-3 months behind but not to get worried, her development hasnt regressed its static at the moment
I would definitely talk to a doctor too. Find another doctor, get a second opinion. At 8 months she should be sitting, reaching out for toys.. my son didn't want to hold his bottle either at 8 months.
My son didn't start crawling till a week back when he turned 10 months. He still doesn't clap, wave. Every child is different. He started rolling over completely at 6 months though and sitting by 5.5 months. But he has been holding his bottle since he was 4 months old lol
It's best to talk to a pediatrician. Hopefully IA nothing would be wrong, but it's best to check.
I was almost 3 years old by the time I started talking. My sister who was almost 2 years younger than I am, started at the same time, ie when she was 1.
My son was quite chubby as a baby so he started the movement related things (sitting, crawling, walking) etc. quite late, but he started reacting to noises and also talking at an "average" age.
My younger daughter is a little Speedy Gonzales though. Started crawling at just over 5 months, sitting before hitting 6 months and a few days ago she started trying to stand up with the help of higher objects (center table, etc.). She will be 7 months old this week.
What I am trying to say is: Every child is different and will reach different milestones at different times. I think your doctor is right. At this point there is no need to worry.
like everyone said every baby is different , my baby was very active sitting n crawling by 6 months walking by 10 months n running at 1 year she is 21 months now n just say mama when she likes like once a day mama while her age fellow babies are already talking too much.
you have to make effort with baby you have to teach them like when i saw babies clapping n she was not doing it i made her learn tht by holding her hands n thn she started clapping similarly when i went to pak she is 8 months my mil teach her how to sit herself when she was lying down, mil used to help her nthen she started doing it , try to make her sit with your help, place pillows behind her back, n i would say instead of gym mat place her on carpet give her space top roll over.
n yes do consider second opinion, if possible take her to nursery even if not daily ince a week, babies learn a lot in other baby’s company
prayers for your baby
wouldn’t hurt to get a second opinion, keeping in mind that kids do progress at different speeds. but if it will satisfy your own mom instincts, it’s well worth it!
my kiddo is bigger for his age and so he did crawl slower, walk slower, etc., and he didn’t hold his bottle until he was 1, and only then thanks to daycare. turns out he was just lazy and knew we’d hold it for him, so he never bothered! first day at daycare and she let go of his bottle to attend to the other kids and hey, he picks it up and sticks it in his own mouth! i was astonished. DOH!
he hasn’t looked back since.
