I was reading this new mother’s blog and she was describing all the different “firsts” she was celebrating with her daughter: first Thanksgiving, first Christmas, first 4th of July, etc. She was creating pages in her baby’s memory book for all of these events, and this got me thinking: what are similar religious and cultural events that Muslim Pakistani/desi people might want to include in a memory book about a baby’s first year of life? For example, we might include info about who gave the azaan in the baby’s ear, or who gave the child his/her ghutti, the first Eids… is there anything I’m missing?
I wanted to create a customized baby scrapbook for a friend of mine which is why I’m wondering. I’d appreciate your input!
