We’ve reported extensively on green vertical towers that integrate plant life into their facade, but unlike many of those designs, here’s one that goes beyond being a mere concept. Designed by Stefano Boeri ](http://www.stefanoboeriarchitetti.net/)- architect, academic and former editor of design and architecture magazine Domus - his Bosco Verticale is a towering 27-story structure, currently under construction in Milan, Italy. Once complete, the tower will be home to the world’s first vertical forest.
This is really inventive, but it's not going to work ... habitats rely on structures that span across horizontally. This forest will always be a multi level set of gardens it will never really be a forest. Also, if drainage goes down the water will be saturated with nitrites by the time it get's down so careful selection of plants will need to be made to avoid killing incompatibility - I also think there might be issues with controlling parasites and diseases in this sort of set-up. Also, it doesn't actually look all that nice, he could have gone for a more organic structure, why like a tower block? A cylindrical look with a curved top would have been much more pleasing to the eye.
It cant be a forest.........Forests are naturals and this looks artificial
You would be surprised how many forests are man-made. Man always has a role to play in the environment. In fact he is also part of the natural environment.
