Anyone here ever had to apply for the relative / Mother-in-law’s extension to stay? My MIL’s stay is valid for six months and with our hectic schedules she takes care of our daughter at home. I just wanted to explore our options to see if she can stay in U.S. longer, perhaps another six months after her current six month stay runs out.
There is a form I-539 that you use to apply for extension etc…however, I also wanted to get the opinion of others if the reason for extension to stay as “she has to take care of the baby at home while we work” is good enough to fly with immigration. If someone else here has applied for extension of stay for their relative under same or diff circumstances then I’d appreciate any feedback in terms of what reason they used and if the application was approved or not.
