"Mijaaz-e-khuda"

:salam:,

Does anyone know what it means… And is it part of Islam?

If it’s not part of Islam then which religion does it belong to?

Please reply if you know the answers, Thanks!

  • if i'm reading this correctly mijazi-khuda is what muslim women {some if not all] call their husbands *

^ yeah, you're correct but what does it mean??

not sure, but think "mejaaz" means fictional.

:wsalam:

The concept of “Majaazi Khuda” among muslim women (of the sub-continent Indo-Pak) has nothing to do with the religion Islam to begin with. Secondly, the word Majaaz not only means “legal” but in context of this phrase, it has another meaning of “Superficial, Metaphoric” or “Figurative” thus it is proved that it is a wrong interpretation of the hadith when Rasoolulah:saw: said that if prostration (sajdah) was allowed to anyone other than Allah:swt:, he:saw: would have asked the wives to do it infront of their husbands.

But declaring a husband as “Majaazi Khuda” is in fact a concept came into the muslim women of south Asia from the culture (religion) of Hinduism where a husband is regarded as a “Bhagwaan.”

^^ Thanks for the info. Do you know the book number of that hadith?? If you have it then please post it here, I’ll really appreciate. Thanks again. :flower1:

Reference for what?

CA: I don't have a reference for the hadith I was refering to but that is a hadith very famous and have heard it from too many scholars in their speeches.

As for "this sounds like a desi made-up thingie" we can certainly find out if it is correct or not by simply doing a research among muslim people other than from sub-continent :-)
