My cousin delivered at Credit Valley with a midwife. She also had a lot of fertility issues. Her total pregnancy was taken care of by the midwife, and she had a pretty difficult pregnancy, she even developed pre-eclampsia and had to be induced. She was very happy with her midwife experience, and she was able to get an epidural, and also the midwife was able to do her stitches.

Just wanted to give an update for anyone that is interested. I am now on the waiting list for 3 midwifery practices in the area. Apparently women call in as soon as they know they are pregnant. At this point I don’t know if any of these practices will me able to accomodate me and I am really very interested in only one of them, as they have the option to deliver at a hospital in Mississauga. So let’s see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed! If worst comes to worst, my family doctor will be referring me to an OB around 25 weeks (I think her office said).
