Just talking about Japanese cartoons, not Tom & Jerry or Buggs Bunny.

Here are the ones I remember

G-Force (Battle of the Planets)

Jongar - I was very young back then, but I remember other kids were crying watching the final episode.

Bionic Six - This cartoon was all about the intermingling of different races and how everyone can get along. Despite that fact, it was full of steroetypes. THe mom was a great cook since she is a woman, the blonde was just dumb, the black guy was atheletic, the Asian kids knew Kung Fu and the White kid was your typical jock.

And FINALLY, CAPTAIN MAJED! The silliest japanese cartoon dubbed in Arabic I have ever ever seen. So much drama, and it was only a soccer club for kids and teenagers. The guy would kick a ball into the goal, but during that he would start thinking about something else, and the whole episode would be about him thinking of something. But I think it is still the most popular Anime in the mid east.

i cant believe somebody opened a thread abt these cartoons. I was a big fan of captian majid but then i liked captian maazin more.hehe..and bisam was such an evil guy.yes, there was a lot of drama but atleast they were more interesting then the boring indian dramas my mom watches now all the time.

and yes i do remember voltron. i aalways loved that part when they would get together to become voltron.

and there was another baseball cartoon where this kid became a famous baseball player after his dad, a baseball player, too, died.

and of course there were those popeye and his son, pink panther, and tom and jerry. i liked the new version of the tom and jerry though.

and how can i forget the girly cartoons. "Saali" was one of my favs.

there was this bumble bee one… u even found the cartoon on the packet of tasali chips

and one bout this orphan girl… sudani women would sell little coloring books outside schools all about this orphan girl…

would help if i remembered tha names… :mad:

capt majid was THE most famous… !! i just found him so bloody hot :blush:

and my friends and i would all choose which one of the bionic six’ we wanted to be.. and then would act out whatever episode we had just watched on tv… ahem

on a seperate note… i don’t like them dubbing cartoons into arabic… i just watched simpsons in arabic..and it was not fun … :expressionless:
