Microwaving food: Does it kill any germs?

Everytime I get non-hygienic food, I microwave it becoz I believe it will kill most of germs.

What do you think?

I suppose heating it beyond a certain temperature (75?) kills germs anyway, microwave or not.

Heat definitely kills, but I have heard microwaves also kill germs.

Answer is:

Microwave heating is not really a reliable way to kill germs.

Microwave heating is very quick heating method and can leave cold spots. So it's no reliable to kill all germs. Anytime food is reheated it should be reheated to 71 Celsius.
