Microsoft tablet and smartphones

Today WSJ had an article abt windows 8 being common in smartphones tablets and computers. Lot of synergy. Apparently apple OS is caught sleeping at thexwheel. Too many bells whistles. But not much progress in terms of usefulness. The map fiasco was cited. The lead software guy was let go. So was another lead head honcho.

Is this beginning of a long slide. Stochastic down from 700 to 595 in abt 3 weeks.

Re: Microsoft tablet and smartphones

Apple Stock sliding is not important and does not indicate anything. APL is a volatile stock and it went up hundreds of dollars in short amount too.
My concern is Forstall's "firing". Only time will tell if this management shakeup proves to be the first nail in Apple's coffin or was it really what Apple needed.
Jhon Browett on the other hand was a complete failure. He messed with Apple retail and his firing was on point. Good riddance.

Re: Microsoft tablet and smartphones

I don't think either fo them were fired. there positons have been changed. I know Forstall isn't fired for sure. other dude im not sure.

Re: Microsoft tablet and smartphones

I don't know anything about the apple employees but windows phones are annoying. I haven't used 'em in detail though so maybe I just need to give them more time.

Re: Microsoft tablet and smartphones

^^ I was checking out a friend's and oh man is it annoying. I totally agree. But then, maybe it's just that I'm not used to it.

Re: Microsoft tablet and smartphones

^ ^^ How about Surface tablet? Does windows 8 have a chance to make inroads in the tablet space?

@ bebo I agree aapl stock price can move 100 pts. - par for the course.

Re: Microsoft tablet and smartphones

Yep, people who use iphone find android annoying also.

Re: Microsoft tablet and smartphones

For me, Iphone is annoying :)

& that's just cuz I'm not use to IOS.

Re: Microsoft tablet and smartphones

Trust me they are being let go. Browett's firing is effective immediately while Forestall will act as an "advisor" to Tim Cook for a year for obvious reason. They can't have him join Google, or Samsung right away while he has knowledge of future products and technologies. He is not head of IOS anymore and he is not getting any updates regarding the projects from now on.

Re: Microsoft tablet and smartphones

Ouch! These big companies (not just apple) are so cut throat.
