I got this avi file. I tried playing it first with Mplayer and then with Windows media player.
It only plays first few frames and then message appears "error code: use windows media player "
What I do to watch it?

Yea same thing happened to me . It takes me to some fake site and wants me to download some player .

It just might be a bad copy if it does play for a few mnts and then stops. If u didn't have the proper codecs it just wouldn't start.

improper file/not properly downloaded/if built from expanding rar files, make sure u have proper sfv/svf whatever file with it to do proper checking of the file..

Like Tofi said, it may be an incomplete download and not codec issue, since files do not run at all if codec is wrong.

^ Jimmy you must have used torrent for that . Same thing I did and I think it was a spam . Never download without reading the reviews . Its my lesson .

The one which comes with windows, I tired it. I tried it on mplayer on linux/win.
I think they are right, ppl who made it, force you to download stuff from their site.

if it stats, u have the "CLASSIC" media player.. if it pops an error, u dont have it..
