Whats your input on this mircrosoft break up into 2 companies..one for OS and one for applications such as IE and office.

Probably.. That will make the two saperate companies even stronger.. and will make them even better.. to compete with other OS and software companies..

Hmmmmmm wasim TRY to make a point.
I think it will generate alots of competition among 2 companies..but at the same time it will be hard for consumer to get the right stuff that they want...applications and OS will conflict most of the time as each company tries to get ahead of the other.

reminds me of a similar case that the government had against IBM and wanted to break it up. The court case dragged on for a long time. By the time they were getting anywhere close to put a close to it, the industry had entirely changed and the previous argumets did not hold true anymore.
On the other hand, look what they tried to do with AT&T and if they came close to accomplishing what they clowns wanted.
