Microsoft Access

Anyone expert in Access? Please I need help. I need to create a survey database with Yes/No/Na responses and count how many Nos, Yes, NAs.Really appreciated.

Re: Microsoft Access

I’m assuming you want to gather data through an online survey and will have a web form integrated with your Access DB. Is this correct?

For purposes of data analysis and reporting, I would export the data into Excel. For example, counting nos and yeses etc. is just a matter of using the right conditional functions (COUNTIF, SUMIF, COUNTIFS, SUMIFS etc.)

P.S. I’m going to move your thread to the C&IT forum where you’ll hopefully get more responses.

Re: Microsoft Access

Lucid, data is already in excel with those formula. I am converting into access. Actualy, its survey for inspector, and permittee get imspection done. Thank you for ur help.

Re: Microsoft Access

I think you wanna generate report in Access so i’ve uploaded a simple dbase and you can check report there …

Re: Microsoft Access

Sanan, thats not going to help me. I have data in excel, and also iin access. I want to show someone who is willing to help me. Plz someone help Thanks. That will be easier as to wat i am talking about.

Re: Microsoft Access

Same, you can import the excel data into Access. You will get a number of options as how you want to store your data. In Access 2007, open it and under the ‘External data’ tab, click on excel icon and browse the file and transform it into Access database as per your requirements

Re: Microsoft Access

If it was that easy i would have done this. Thanks^

Re: Microsoft Access

ok. please send me some sample data and I will give it a try

Re: Microsoft Access

As a professional I would advise to hire an access database expert and have this done profesionally if you are not efficient in Access. Neem hakeen khatra-e-jaan…neem DBA khatra-e-database…

Re: Microsoft Access

^oh oh, i can’t afford to hire expert :frowning:

r u the expert?

Re: Microsoft Access

Excel to Access … might help

Re: Microsoft Access

Same, as everyone pointed out you need the data in Excel and then you can setup proper formulas and the spreadsheet would calculate the results for you.

Your results are already in the right application. You don’t have to take it anywhere else. If you need help with the formulas post the format of ur data and someone would help you set the results up.

Re: Microsoft Access

Guys, she already has the data in both Excel and Access (as she mentioned above) but she wants to create the formulas in Access and not Excel for whatever reason. So I think what she is asking is what are the formulas in Access that will tally the Yes, No and NA responses.

I for one don’t know much about Access so don’t know the formulas hopefully someone else can help.

Re: Microsoft Access

Actually you are still not clear that what you want. First try to write sample field here and what you actually want!
From my report you can get these results in group and total numbers as well.
You can copy the excel record to MSAccess Table as well but you must have the same fields in Excel.

I have mad the sample report which is exactly doing what u wrote & i thought but i think she is not been able to express properly what she want.
