OK so i may have this done, and at the lady at the beauty place told me its the best thing for fading marks and the one they have is mild.so not too harsh. shall i give it a go? IM worried itl either have horible side effects or make no difference at all.
I have these red marks too and got two sessions of microdermabrasion done about a year ago. I don't think it did anything in fading any of those marks. I mean I wasn't expecting any miracle to happen in two sessions but I saw no difference at all in my skin tone.
Chemical peels are said to work much better for acne marks.
And nadz, don't try out too many things at one time. See a dermatologist and you'll get much better advice and help.
you do need a lot of treatments of microd. i think they are most used on ageing skin to smooth it out.
ask wishkamer said, peels are said to work better.
i'd go to a clinic that offers both and let them advise which is better for you. dunno how that works in pakistan (if that's where you are), it may be worth seeing a dematologist if they have clinics?
nope am in uk. and i did try 3 peels before wedding, NO DIFFERENCE....the stupud cow ( she works for natural define by the way) LIED...and told me it would take 2 peels to notice...i noticed nothing...i did 3...still nothing........she kept saying `oh itl work next time....pissed me off and then she sold me something for 50quid that toldme would lighten marks...and guess wat...i examined the sutfff and it was bascially turmeric and some ubtan style stuff which probly costs less than 2 quid..she charged me 50......poor gorey wont know that will they, AND it didnt work either ( well i only used few times cos had to go pakistan and lost it there...so am pisseddd
personally, i wouldn't waste my money on treatments. either way they will fade in time and you do can things to speed that up.
i'd get a facewash that contains glycolic acid but mild enough to use everyday/a few times a week. make sure you moisturise twice a day. wear high spf sunscreen as that will help them fade quicker too. take a decent dose of vitC everyday and you can also make a vitC powder mask and apply that.
haha :) i d be happy to help out....i can totally feel your pain!!
to be honest...you will have to be patient with any treatment...
i combined at-home-peels with at-home-dermabrasion sessions..and prescription tazorac/retinol.
the following have been wonderful: 20% tca, 50% glycolic, 25% salicylic acid, 50% lactic acid. NOTE: I started with the lowest concentration of each...and followed directions provided by platinumskincare.com
0.1% tazorac gel mixed with obagi blender also helped out with the fading.
you can pm for further information. :)
yes Nadz u hav to stick with one or two treatments at time. don't try too many things at once. retin A gel 0.5% ith HQ 4% will work gr8 to fade them but nothing will happen overnight. giv things atleast 3-6 weeks b4 u decide they r working or not.
may be ur peel wasn't strong enuf ( wat % it was. how much peeling n frosting took place etc) and u do need 3-4 strong peels to see some drastic results. get ur own home based peels from where chanda recommends but again its no miracle. u need 3-6 months to see desired results.
Patience and consistency is the key here.
r u sure its secure..and they only got the 97quid one, not the 47 one...whys that......which one does ur mate use...im worried about it being dodgy..:/
my sister also bought from them, what's 47? i just text my sister and she said its never been that cheap.
u can certainly ask some pharmacies.
i buy from ebay amazon, i am an online shopping person but if you have had a bad experience with online shopping then its understandable if you don't trust it.
also, it wasn't mentioned on bbc in a positive light.
chanda gave you some great advice about at home peels. combined with a good skin care regime and you should be okay.
if you want good professional results, don't have treatments at a salon. go to a clinic where they do cosmetic procedures and have the chemical peels from there.
nadz i have never heard of this "nur" cream...
regarding the obagi blender..it has 4% HQ which is only to be used as a corrective cream. NOT for skin whitening. Doctors advise you to only use Obagi blender for 3 months and less.. there is a risk for hyperpigmentation and/or skin thickening.
