actually the word is NOT laal...
the word is: La'l [laam, ai'n, laam] = gem, gohar
La'l o gohar = gems N pearls.
when i was a kid i had a guy in the neighbourhood whose name was La'l MOHammad...i always wondered why he had a Hindu name...i asked my dad after a few years and then i knew the difference.

I heard a lot pplz saying Mai ka laal but pronounce sounds like they are saying Micheal (Mai-kal) so I wonder that may be there is a person with this name and they referring to that person :D
