LAHORE: Former Pakistan cricket captain Javed Miandad’s son and the daughter of India’s most wanted man, Dawood Ibrahim, are expected to tie the knot in Dubai shortly, IANS reported on Friday. The cricketer’s son, who is studying in England, had been engaged to Ibrahim’s daughter in January this year, an event that was kept a quiet affair. “We expect the actual ceremony to be a hush-hush one too, with not many guests being invited. We also know for sure that Dawood will not be attending,” privileged sources, speaking strictly on condition of anonymity, told IANS. When news of the engagement surfaced earlier this year, Miandad had reacted angrily, saying he would make no comments on the matter. At that time he was reported to have said: “I don’t understand why people interfere in our personal life. I don’t interfere in anybody’s life and expect them to respect our privacy also.” When contacted in Lahore on Thursday, Miandad did not deny that the marriage was on the cards. “I will let you know when the wedding takes place. its sad to see miandad's son marry dawood ibraim's daughter. No, not because Dawood is an underworld don whom India is hunting for the bomb blasts he anchored in bombay many years ago.
the reason i'm peeved is cos this wedding just goes to show that the miandads and ibrahims were in close contact all these years......u may ask me why thts a bad thing?.......
because dawod was one of the main kingpins behind a dirty little game called "match-fixing" in the late 80's and early 90's.
if miandad and dawood were close associates all these years, then it just brings out doubts on the image of javed miandad. i dont know any popular person from any field in pak/ind who wants to associate himself/herself with dawood because of his criminal activities(except for some dubious characters in our bureucracy).
so why would miandad wanna be a close associate to a man like dawood? why?
It does no good to miandads image and reputation to be assocaited with a crime and match-fixing king like dawood.

This guy was a phenomenal cricketer, strategic thinker on the field and off the field. Then the senior Miandad married a 'Saigol' girl, now the Junior Miandad marrying into the Dawood family. Or is it the other way around? It was the saigols getting the prize scalp of Miandad and now Ibrahim Dawood netting another Miandad??
