Miandad Appointed Batting Consultant?

Re: Miandad Appointed Batting Consultant?

**I am really disappointed as to how we treat our legends. making fun of his disability is disgusting to say the least and him being in law with dawood does not mean he will be involved in any scam. I would rather put my faith in Miandad than the current satay bazz lot. I have seen him bat for Pakistan and can say without doubt that he is the best batsmen Pakistan has produced and never compromised where Pakistan was concerned. always gave his 100%.

We should be proud of him not belittle him. Shame really.

Re: Miandad Appointed Batting Consultant?

Fully agreed. The man is a great legend and no one can take away the greatness he showed on the field as a player.

Cricket is not really my cup of tea but whenever I watched this man's videos with friends, I must say very few if any can come close to his talent. His Sharjah video was awsome but other glimpses were also very impressive.

Somehow Imran Khan had problem with him ( too many of Imran Khan's family members there to share his 'love' and support) and Miandad seemed not to be able to defend himself against a political web around him.

Miandad had a dream career and he is a legend, I have no doubts in his ability to motivate youngsters in the game.
My comments were from the backdrop of his last stint at the coaching career and PCB officialism in the current affairs.
Don't you feel we require people who are great spokesmen/women ? capable of not only to handle their assignments but go an extra mile in representing/restoring a hard-hit reputation (PCB - Pakistan)???
I know of many "Safaid Posh" legends and figures in Pakistan who don't want to get involved officially because of uncertain twist and revealing events. Who can dare to step into the unknown at this point ehsan bhai ?

Re: Miandad Appointed Batting Consultant?

Miandad, Imran and the greats in those times would never sell out like the low life's of today.
However Minadad, had and still has his idiosyncrasies like any one else.

Only PCB can keep the drama going on a matter as simple as this…

“No ‘definite decision’ on role as Pak team batting consultant”: Miandad
From ANI

Karachi, Dec 6(ANI): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director General Javed Miandad has said he has not turned down the role of batting consultant for the national cricket team, but is yet to take a “definite decision” over it.

“I’m going to Lahore tomorrow (Monday) and there should be further clarification regarding the matter once I’ve reached Lahore. There has been no definite decision as yet, and there are just a couple of things that need to be clarified,” PakPassion.net quoted Miandad, as saying.

“I am not sure and it’s not yet been decided if I will be travelling to New Zealand with the squad or whether it will purely be a Pakistan based role,” he added.

Miandad confirmed he was always ready to help Pakistan cricket in any way he could, and that he takes great satisfaction in seeing improvements from the batsmen with whom he puts in a lot of effort and time.

“My services are and always will be available to Pakistan cricket. I’ve always maintained that I am here to help the batsmen, whether it’s the youngsters or the senior players. My door is always open to any of the batsmen if they need advice, help and guidance. It’s an absolute honour to help Pakistan cricket and it’s very satisfying to see improvements in the batsmen after they have worked with me,” he said.

There has been a huge outcry for the appointment of a batting coach or consultant after the disastrous display of the Pakistani batting line-up in England, where none of the batsmen managed to reach three figures throughout the tour.

The New Zealand pitches are expected to present the Pakistani batsmen with another stern test of their credentials, and therefore Miandad’s services could be of great value.Cricket News
