KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has accepted the offer made by Afghanistan for coaching their national cricket team.
Talking with Geo News, Javed Miandad said that the cricket officials of Afghanistan contacted him and offered him to coach their national team.
Miandad said that he has accepted this offer informally but asked the Afghan Club to contact the Pakistan government in this regard and only after that send a formal invitation to him.
—and the happiest person in Pakistan would be Ijaz Butt to see this happen.
He probably got bored with coaching his over-rated nephew Faisal Iqbal
Jokes apart Miandad will always rank as Pakistan's greatest batsman in my book. He was genuinely world-class and one of my favourite Pak players along with Imran and Zed (Zaheer Abbas)

Majid Khan was the most stylish one of all .... but Zaheer and Miandad were class on their own ..
Wasim was great but he never had the same aura as Imran or Miandad or Viv Richards etc., I grew up watching those players; have been following cricket since 1983 to be precise
he may not be the "educated guy", he may not be a "trained coach" (and other bells and whistles) but no one can question his understanding of game and technique.
Its easy to call names or laugh at him if someone don't like him but that just makes themselves a laughing stock although I accept that he may have ego problem and he dont know how to express it unlike other "educated" greats. I guess he has failed to understand that times and methods have changed and he should mold himself
Did we not have foreign coaches? Considering not all of our players know English, how do you think the coach was communicating with our players? :aq:
Good luck to Miandad. Coaching Pakistan’s team was difficult because in his first few stints there were players from the time he was in the playing XI so clash of egos there, now because of those stints his coaching abilities is under question for Pakistani team. If Afghans trust him with that then good for them.
