with more population comes more moving around more transport needs more traffic and thus need a bigger solution
u cant compare the traficc of karachi gawader with inter punjab traffic, same with islamabd and peshawer
Im not comparing the traffic of the respective motorways (although the Islamabad-Peshawar traffic is not insignificant). Obviously all motorways need to meet a certain threshold of utilization to be viable projects.
LockJaw, Once you see something being done already, see its costs and benefits and then do a copy paste. Who would you think deserves the credit? The guy with gonads who took the risk or the guy who duplicated it?
your argument might be valid if the idea of a motorway was a novel concept in the history of the world. unfortunately the 1st motorway itself is a copy-paste of earlier motorways in other countries, extant for pretty much a century. i dont really see any gonads involved in initiating development work anyway that isnt coloured by politics or maybe the need to overcome opposition. If it met a pressing need, then it wasnt a very risky decision.
Karachi-Lahore, Peshawar-Quetta, now that would need stones, given the terrain, and the political obstacles.
