True, in those situations you have to question a man's sanity and morality. If he cannot be good to his parents, then where does anyone else stand?
I personally don't think there's anything wrong with listening to your SO, abiding by each other's wishes or having the other person 'wrapped around your finger' as long as you don't abuse that privilege and like you guys said, not neglect other important relationships in your life.
