How are mexican people in your city treated? Are they just like everybody else or are they considered the lowest in society? I have to admit when I was in high school, not many people liked mexicans and thought that they were cheap disgusting people and that they should go back to their country… and after being hooted at and air kissed so many times by the mexicans at the fruit stores I really started disliking them too… like I hated the sight of em. I thought they were good for nothing and all around cheap nasty people. Gross generalization but I was very narrowminded and stupid.
It just so happens that a very good friend of mine is interested in a Mexican guy and has been dating him for the past so many months adn I’ve also really gotten to know him well through her, and hes really changed my mind about his people. They’re just like everyone else. Hardworking, family people just trying to make ends meet. Yes they’re not educated but they have street smarts, and talking to him… he sure has a lot of wisdom. Everything he ever said made complete sense and I always learned something new from him. Sure their morals and values are different than ours but not all of em are bad people. They are honest and goodhearted but they catch a lot of flack for being illegal and whatnot.
I know it varies from city to city. In NY they’re not really respected but when I went to L.A. it was like mexicanville. Everyone likes em, has at least a couple of mexican friends, and they’re considered goodlooking people. Here, err not so much…

their daughters have such nice hair, i always wanna ask the aunties what they feed em. I mean u see 3-5 year olds with loooooong thick rapunzel-esque hair!
I had some good friends in Mexican community. Their culture and family system falls not very far from us. Very nice and hospitable people. And very hard working as Mirch mentioned.
First and foremost, those folks that you are referring to will be offended if you call them Mexican. Unless they ARE from Mexico, many of them hail from central and south america and like to be rather referred to as Hispanic. Some people also refer to the entire spanish speaking peoples as the SPANISH which is also very derogatory. Its kind of like when someone calls me indian, and im like uhhhh NIGAA PLEASE.
But Hispanics in general are great folks. Don't value education as highly as we do, i must admit.
Edit: I also realize that Hispanic is also an incorrect term, but the most accepted on official forms and such. Since Hispanic refers to anyone with Spanish blood, it does not include anglos, afro, portugese and native american populations that live in south and central america.

Mexican people are not that bad but it really depends what kind of society they are in.I have a very good friend she is mexican and has three daughters and she is family orientated,loving and have family values.But living in South West where Mexican border is very near you can find all kind of groups from gangsters, drug dealers every kind.Some who are educated are very nice people but sometimes when you go near Mexican towns then it feels scary.Because most of them are illegal here and they are poor so there are more chances that mexicans can be burglars.One of our friend lives near Mexican town and crime rate in his area is higher than other areas.Even labor Mexican people are nice too because maids here are most of them Mexicans but they are fine.
Do you know Mexico and South East-Asia is the only place in the world, where they have MAJJs.
Really hope people know what a MAJJ is.
Sheeesh people! You can't stereo type a whole nation! There are goods / bads and all sort of in between people in all races. You treat the person, as they should be treated.
P.S: Everyone is nice until you start living with them (or have a big serious fight).
