I tried making them once....and they turned out fine (taste wise) and in appearance....just a tad tough in texture. But yes, you can become full on the biscuits alone. Went there with family for dinner a couple of weeks ago...and I liked the biscuits more than the meal.
From cooking shows.......if i recall correctly you shouldn't overmix the biscuit mix too much otherwise they become tough. Also dip in melted butter seconds before serving. If you leave it too long the texture becomes tough.
I am not crazy about about the fish. Personally I think the fish that you can make i at home is much, much better and you can add more flavor. I get frozen fish fillets from wholesale club or grocery store. The shrimp is the only thing that is decent.
