I’d like to know more about the Heavy Metal scene in Pakistan. I know of a couple of bands that play this genre of music. Dusk from Karachi being one of them. An atmospheric Doom Metal band which adds beautiful folk melodies along with dark rythms shadowed by the exchange of whispers and growls from Babar Sheikh, and to top it off, blistering melodic lead guitar solos by Faraz Anwar. “My Infinite Nature Alone” is a true masterpiece. Can’t wait for their new one.
Besides Dusk, I only know of about one other local Karachi band which plays metal, and it’s a band called Messiah, who are much heavier in nature, and lean towards the current trend of metal. Are there any other half decent, talented, local Pakistani metal bands out there with websites?
Any information would be appreciated. The homepages for the 2 aforementioned bands can be found below.

Not really Fret Wizard, the situation is pretty bleak. It looked a lot better say 5 to 7 years back but even then those guys were more into a mixture of soft rock, hard rock and metal. Not much original stuff; all of them did cover songs.
And Doom metal? I really dont think that any Pakistani metal band leans towards that. But it would really be great if someone did that. I know a couple of names but I dont know whether they are still active or not. Seth is the first name that pops up. This is your typical Death Metal. Ganda banda and the 3D Cats is another. Never got to listen to the latter but I have heard that they are very experimintal.
To date the best commercial band to come out of the underground metal scene in Pakistan is EP (Entity-Paradigm). Entity at its peak was the best metal band in Pakistan. But they mostly did cover songs. Great guitar work and superb vocals. Very tightly knit live performances. Paradigm is probably the sole success story from the second generation of metal bands to emerge. And now as EP they are together. People are very hopeful about them. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Well, Dusk's album "My Infinite Nature Alone" is extremely doomy, especially the songs "Fortress of Solitude" and "Still Black and White", really dark, and moody. Not sure if you heard it, but if not, get that album, it's brilliant and very original. however it's been out of print for a while, took me forever to find it.
Where did you get your hands on "My infinite Nature Alone"???
I've been looking for it, but its not available anywhere!

Mr. Dervaish, you had made pcg and me a commitment about the very same album sometime back :) So, the wait is still on.
Coven isn’t really metal. They have more in common with bands like Stone Temple Pilots and Creed. Speaking of Coven, can anyone give more information on the band. Do they have a website? What’s the name of their album(s), and where can they be purchased from? Any help would be appreciated.

MessiahX is a breath of fresh air in pakistani music which was kinda stuck on the same ol same ol for a few years.
I dont think they will find a broad fan base because frankly I dont know if the country is ready for that. remember the barbarians?
However, I think they will fill in an empty space in Pakistani music and will have a whole diff kinda fan.
entity paradigm is another good one.

Yeah, I agree Fraudz. MessiahX are definately a breath of fresh air, and they're pretty darn good as well. I hope they as well as others help to develop some kind of heavier scene in Pakistan. I think it's long overdue :D By the way Fraudz, are messiahx signed to a label?
