Mermaid dresses

Isnt it hard to walk around with such a dress?
Agreed it looks awesome, but it looks like its hard to walk in. reminds me of pinguins. Wobbeling around.
I am sure there will be some ‘lachak’ in the kapra but still it looks really uncomfy.
Is there some trick used for walking or is there something extra ,invisible for the human eye, done on the lower part of the dress?

Re: Mermaid dresses

Well most mermaid lenghas r bridal, if im not mistaken.. so n ur not running a marathon in it :p And have u ever seen them up-close in real life? Because, in pix, the fabric is bunched up around the knees to make the hips look curvier.. ive never seen one in real life but the pic u see in magazines is never how it really is..

Re: Mermaid dresses

So, if your hips already look curvy, then going mermaid would be overkill, wouldn't it?

Re: Mermaid dresses

Well u cudnt c curvy hips under those traditional lenghas
magazine pix r jus to emphasize.. thas all.. in reality, im sure its a tad easier to walk in (tho maybe not all the way, since they r mostly wedding lenghas)

Re: Mermaid dresses

hmm okay. knew you were playing for the both sides. :D

Re: Mermaid dresses

well actually-- u need some curves for mermaids to look good, i tried one on and it looked so bad
a lot of girls- not just brides- are wearing mermaids, my sister wore one and she didnt complain much about it being difficult to walk in, i guess its harder than it looks,

Re: Mermaid dresses

pleasen post a picture exactly what it looks like.

Re: Mermaid dresses

I've seen really curvy girls wear it and look amazing. I used to think that you need to be a stick to wear it, but I was wrong.

Re: Mermaid dresses

my younger sister wanted a fitted lehnga for my other sisters wedding but the karegar advised her against it saying she would look skinnier and taller and it doesn;t suit skinny girls as much. So I am guessing it looks better on curvier girls, so mehnaz we can both wear one on your wedding :D

Re: Mermaid dresses

it's just like wearing a skirt. that means, short, slow steps. i wore mine on my cuz's wedding, and the only trouble i found was climbing the ghey steps that the tent walay put on the stage. didn't wanna expose my ankle and then some to all the mamoos and male cousin's present.

Re: Mermaid dresses

i have a red mermaid but i lost a few pounds by the time i got to wear it so it was kinda loose around the hips. it still gave room for movement while maintaining the mermaid shape. I really like it that way...i think it looks less "adams family"...

Re: Mermaid dresses

I wud love to wear a mermaid one, but i dont have any hips for it :(

Re: Mermaid dresses

oh I thought you would have to be skinny to wear it.
So that means I could try one hmm.... :(

Re: Mermaid dresses

what do you call these kinda leghngas? I am getting two and they better look good on curvy women :grumpy:

Mine wont be ruffled, but its the same shape(almost). Its like kinda fitted at the tighs and then really big at the end…but it I dont think its a mermaid :bummer:

Re: Mermaid dresses

actually i think its more like this…

Maybe i will ask when it comes :bummer:

Re: Mermaid dresses

aik jaise kapRon mae dulha ko dhoka na ho jaye.

Re: Mermaid dresses

DP y dont u wear one of those urself.. n find out how 2 walk in it..:p

Re: Mermaid dresses

really? the only reason i never tried it was because i thought i won't look good in it, i guess i should try it.
