Has anyone tried making them? Got any recipes?
I like the fact that they are very low in fat ![]()

Re: Meringues
I’ve made them a few times. This is the best recipe I have come across Ultimate meringue recipe | Good Food it is the most simple and fool proof. Hard on the outside and slightly goey in the middle. Make sure you FOLD in the mixture gently otherwise they wont rise.
Topped with cream and fresh berries, tis to die for!
Re: Meringues
Whenever making pavlova my go to recipe is Delias! No vinegar or cornflour required, but tastes just as good without! Its crispy and chewy on the outside and marshmallowy on the inside! http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/main-ingredient/meringue/pavlova.html
Takes just an hour to cook also and some recipes takes a lot longer! I cook it for an hour and then switch the gas off and leave it in the oven for hours until the oven has cooled (I sometimes leave it in overnight).
Delicious with strawberries and cream… mmmmm I might make this for iftar now, but have already been asked to do banoffee pie so this might have to wait until another day!

rachel allen's recipe is awesome...check her website!
Re: Meringues
Okay so I tried making them for the first time today. Had them for iftar. I added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence to the beaten egg white mixture for flavour. I baked them for 22 minutes in the oven at 325 degrees F. They were tasty but they had a lot of cracks in them :(
Re: Meringues
I think your oven was probably too hot for them to crack so much, but they look nice still.
