@ehsan

Thanks for providing me the opportunity to post my ten favourite gazals/ nazams. Not in any particular order:

The first one is beautiful kalam by Shakeel Badayuni

The poet is complaining about his failure in love and the words he has used to express are just so beautiful. Look at the second shair and the last one, says is it all.

ai mohabbat tere anjaam pe ronaa aayaa
**jaane kyon aaj tere naam pe ronaa aayaa
**
yuun to har shaam ummiidon mein guzar jaatii thii
aaj kuchh baat hai jo shaam pe ronaa aayaa

kabhii taqdiir kaa maatam kabhii duniyaaa kaa gilaa
**manzil-e-ishq mein har gaam pe ronaa aayaa **

jab huaa zikr zamaane mein mohabbat kaa ‘Shakeel’
mujh ko apane dil-e-naakaam pe ronaa aayaa

My favourite shair in this kalam is :

yuun to har shaam ummiidon mein guzar jaatii thii
aaj kuchh baat hai jo shaam pe ronaa aayaa

this shair describes the ultimate desperation of his lost love and that he is not expecting his love to return

Great! A pleasure to read. :k:
