Meri daastan-e-hayaat ki ye tehreer to ik aesa bayaan hey
jisey koi dil sey na sun saka, jisey parrh saki na nazar koi

sar-e-bazm saarey dostoN ney meri aap-beeti suni magar
koi dil ka aalam na samajh saka, go gham-zada tha har koi

tera shab-o-roz ka intizaar meri nazar sey sab kuch le urra
merey ratjagoN ke naseeb meiN ab tak nahi hey sahar koi

merey hosley bhi thak gaey ke meri rah-guzar sey bani nahi
jab raastey hoN na-meharbaaN, to kya karey phir safar koi

do chaar saaNseiN aaj bhi merey paas heiN, tu bhi paas aa
teri nigaahoN ki talkhiyoN meiN gar bach gayaa hey zehar koi

ye to mohabbatoN ki maang thi jo tujhey zindagi ka laqab diya
is sodey ke aevaz sanam meiN ney kab maaNga tha samar koi

tu kis leeye hey gham’zada ke ye teri hi zid thi aey hum’nawa
ke kisi ki aaNkheiN nam na hoN chahey mar bhi jaey agar koi
