My name is Ahmed Ali Shah, I am the son of Noor Ul-Huda Shah (the writer of MAM).
1st thanks to all those people who came to love MAM, especially those who watched it completely (that excludes me, I don't get to watch all of my mother's play & the ones I watch I don't see all the episodes.)
I have been reading around & I found people complaining about the last episode. In fact many people even called up my mother (from far off places like USA) complaining as to "Why the play ended so soon?" Many didn't even like the last episode. I my self didn't even watch it. I will forward this to her.
May be you people should write a petition to her demanding another episode with better ending - ah just kidding (or am I?)
Anyways, my mother has become a very busy lately. She has left Script Director's post at the HUM TV & has started her own production company (we need your prayers for its success) & therefore she can't carry on with very long dramas likes these but she will return to them as soon as she settles down.
Nevertheless, I'll tell her about the disappointment of some people with the ending, who knows may be she writes one last episode.
so she brought the play to an abrupt halt because she was too busy to write anymore...hmm that explains the ending :)
No it wasn't an abrupt end as far as I know. I think she was going into transition (in process of leaving Hum Tv & opening her own Production Company) when she was writing the last episodes. & it was a tough transition. There was a lot of work load on her.

same here. I tried watching it a couple of times (because of the writer) but couldn't stand the mediocre content hence never bothered following it.
However , once you commit to something then it is your responsibility to do it properly. you just can't shirk away and look for excuses.
Stop crying over a soap. Not every drama has to have a happy ending. The title of the drama was "meri adhoori muhabbat." What else did you expect.
I don't agree with the excuse they used to make it "adhoori" like y'all but they way it was going, it couldn't have ended any other way. I so wanted to see nirmalta's family in the last episode when she returned home, but oh well.
I don't mind sad endings. But atleast make them believeable! This one w/ the whole "I have turned into a nun wearing Mother Theresa's sari" just lacked any sense.
Good writers should not be made to write 100+ episode soaps because they get tired of them toward the end. I remember Haseena Moin saying in one of her interviews that she had to write a soap once and in the end it became jaan ka azaab. Anwar Maqsood was complaining about being bound to Loose Talk for 5+ years. I think creative people cannot be kept on a tight leash for so long otherwise their writing suffers.

Let me be the first to Welcome you on board.
You mother has made significant contribution to Pakistan TV for many many years. Who could forget the great dramas like Jungle, Ajaib Khana, Sheehay ka Mehel, Tapish, etc.
Despite the complaints about the last episode, the Drama MAM was beautifully written overall. I would like to congratulate your mother on behalf of the entire GS community. If you read the earlier posts on this thread before the last episode was aired, you will see that the thread is nothing but full of praises. All in all, it was a great drama.

SHABASH Ahmed…very good post and it was required. Just today..I was recording a new serial of Atef…where three key artiste of M.A.M teamed with me; Sabrin, Shahood and Hina Dilpazeer. I did mention to them about the upsurge and genuine thoughts and feelings about the ending of M.A.M..and their response was exactly as yours…
During the recording Shahood also received a phone call gfrom someone in BRADFORD…who too extended what people said to you from America.
You request your Mom… to consider a replacement of last episode if possible..I will also request her.
I am happy with your post.
Best,
Raju Uncle.
See the pic below…that people may not think that my thoughts above were a shot-in-the-dark;
Director Atef (in bermudas) with the cast
of his new serial…
Ali, Sabrin, Hina Dilpazeer, Shahood Alvi,
Beenisgh Chouhan, Abid Ali & me-self.
I do not believe that re-writing a new ending now is going to be quite the same...the momentum is broken, the last few episodes were kind of cliffhangers and the viewers were in that 'whats next' mode...now it just doesnt matter. Although a very kind offer, to go back and re-write the ending just because viewers are unhappy with it, but whats done is done.
Arjay, I hope you told Shahood Alvi the rave reviews he is getting on this forum, consensus was that his acting was the best!!
In the pic are you the last one? With arms around Abid Ali?
A lot of people are asking about why there was no mention of what happened to Shahood Alvi in the end. I remember discussing the play with my mother & came to realize that the character Shahood played was secondary, compared to Humayun Saeed (but still a very very important role), but the way Shahood performed it became primary. So the credit goes to Shahood. That is probably why Shahood missed out on a big ending of his character - or at least that is my perception.
On the other hand in my mother’s word: both characters were of equal importance.
