When Mod do merge threads into one!
All replies being mereged are arranged into new thread according to the time they were posted.
For this reason there is NO continuation left in the discussion which were going on in orgional threads.
I have hardly seen any furhter reply in those merged thread because of discontinuation!
so,
Can we change it to merge the whole threads as it was into new ?

i think merging should be such that all the replies in the first thread should come first and then the next thread replies and so on.
it might solve the problem. i don't know how difficult it would be for the techies.
saying that, i think mostly cafe threads are merged as most of them have "happy birthday" type content so it doesn't matter. i also remember a thread which had to be 'de-merged' or separated coz there was parallel disscussion going on on different issues.
Right now, it seems that the merge feature works in a very straight-forward manner. It orders all posts based on their post date.
Changing this to any other sort, may not be technically feasible. In any case, the best way to avoid it is by NOT opening identical threads, so mods don't have to merge, in the first place. Just post all your comments/opinions/one-liners etc in the same thread instead of opening newer threads on the same topic (especially copy-cat threads).
