Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

Poor Denmark. They published cartoons associating Muslims with violence. Now they are removing their diplomats from countries because of threats of violence from Muslims ......

No wait, that can't be right.....

Re: Danish PM Bitter over lack of western support

Yes, the economic engine that is the ummah has Denmark cowering in fear.

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

So, a third rate tiny local newspaper insults you guys, and the rational response is burning embassies, and threatening and expelling all Dutch Nationals.

Do you know how irrational it is to have some fool talking like a gangsta coming up with this crap?

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

correction: The newspaper is the most purchased in Denmark

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

On how many levels does this qualify as an ignorant post?

You try to equate a cartoon to terrorism.

You want to burn down embassies and kick out citizens because of the actions of an independent newspaper. This goes way beyond any perceived western discrmination against Muslims because of an extremist movement (not newspaper, but movement).

You equate non-Muslim to 'gora'. Does that mean there is something wrong with Islam that its followers are non-white, or something wrong with goras that they don't accept Islam? Either way, it opens up a can of worms that doesn't necessarily reflect badly on goras. So I will take 'gora' as a compliment from now on, thank you.

You deny Islamic extremism and blame it as as some Jewish/US conspiracy. How blind, dishonest or ignorant is that statement? Surely you are just grandstanding and really don't believe that? No wonder your posts make no sense if you deny that very basic fact.

You think the election of a terrorist group somehow reflects badly on western society instead of the soiciety that elected it. Yeah.

Because you worship your prophet you think that somehow makes you better than me. And that I am supposed to be jealous of your fanaticsm for a human?

You use name calling because your arguments are pitifully weak.

Seriously, I don't know if I've ever seen such a short post expose so many misconceptions of reality.

Re: Danish PM Bitter over lack of western support

More and more states are distancing themselves from the sinking ship that is called Denmark, and cosying up to Muslims.

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

Fine.

The entire frikkin' country of Denmark is half the size of Karachi.

It is not a govenment owned paper, nor is it censored by the government. Shall we take some editorial from the second largest paper in Karachi and imply that the entire government has the same view and is responsible?

What's more, shall we hold every ex-pat Pakistani personally responsible, including their personal safety because of what is published in some rag in Karachi?

What's more, the riots sort of prove the cartoons right eh?

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

Again WRONG!, the paper is linked to Gov't as per information released in Canadian Newspapers.

Also, under the Danish Law it is illegal to spread hate [for this several ppl have been jailed in Denmark, for inciting hate against Jews and other minorities]

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

The paper is LINKED? How is it *linked? *

The paper is a conservative independent paper with weekday circulation of 150,000 copies. I don't know about your perception, but 150,000 copies is nothing.

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

And, where did the Danes get the idea that Islam and violence were linked? Did they just imagine it? Invoking the Gupshup propaganada phalacy, a picture equals a thousand words, here is a nice picture of a Muslim Cleric infront of the blazing Danish embassy in Beirut last week. If you look closely, there is a fuse peeking out of his turban, just over his right ear....

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

Boycott may cost Danes 11,000 jobs

A long-term consumer boycott of Danish goods in the Middle East and other Muslim countries could threaten some 11,000 jobs in Denmark, a Danish bank said Tuesday. Exports of food and agriculture products alone could cost some 4,000 Danish jobs if the boycott continues for a year, Jyske Bank analyst Claus Birn Jensen said. According to Jensen, Danish exports to the Middle East total some 8 billion kroner (1.3 billion dollars), roughly 1 per cent of Denmark’s total exports. In addition to agriculture products, Danish exports include pharmaceuticals, machinery, and other industrial products.

Calls for a boycott of Danish products were triggered to protest a Danish newspaper’s publication last September of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed, viewed as offensive by many Muslims. The chief editor of the Jyllands-Posten newspaper late Monday apologized for publishing the caricatures, saying they “were not intended to be offensive, nor were they at variance with Danish law, but they have indisputably offended many Muslims, for which we apologize,” Carsten Juste said. Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen on Monday expressed his first criticism of the publication. “I personally have such respect for people’s religious feelings that I personally would not have depicted Mohammed, Jesus or other religious figures in such a manner that would offend other people,” Rasmussen told commercial broadcaster TV2 news.

Danish food company Arla, which produces a range of dairy products for sale in the Arabic region, had Tuesday no immediate reports if the conciliatory statements had made any impact. Arla said Monday it was to close a dairy in the Saudi city of Riyadh that employs 800 people, and was preparing contingency plans for some 100 workers at three dairy plants in Denmark that make products exported to the Middle East and North Africa. Kasim Amat, spokesman for one of the Danish Islamic congregations, welcomed the statements by the premier and Jyllands-Posten’s editor. “Now we have to work together to ensure a calmer debate and a proper dialogue about Islam and Muslims,” he said on Danish radio. Amat suggested a joint delegation of Islamic organisations, foreign ministry officials and Danish businesses should visit Saudi Arabia to discuss how the boycott should be ended.

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

Actually, the BBC showed similar video images as they occured outside the embassies and did mention how the clerics were trying to calm people down and shouting at them to stop the violence … nice try though.

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

So a BBC report negates the fact that there were clerics all over the world that called for no mercy in punishing anyone mocking the prophet? That there are madrassahs, clerics and Muslim organizations that indoctrinate hate, intolerance and violence against westerners? That fatwas have been issued in the name of Allah and Islam to kill western civilians wherever you find them? Nice try though.

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

Sure looks like they are part of the mob to me. Nice try though.

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

Is that what I said? No it isn’t. What I said is that there were also clerics standing outside the embassies shouting at people to stop. I’m sure video footage is on the BBC website if you care to do a search. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not denying that there are fundos out there who are using this as an excuse to go on a buckwild killing spree … however, that doesn’t mean you need to totally ignore the ones who were trying to calm people down. Khair, I don’t appreciate you putting words into my mouth.

Of course there is hatred spewed against Westerners … what does that have to do with anything I said? Once again, what I said is that there were some clerics standing outside the embassies calling for calm. If you want to believe that all “mullahs” or even all Muslims are fanatics, there is no stopping you cause that’s already set in your mind … this attitude is really no different than the mullah fanatics who are hell bent on killing/hating all westerners.

Ignore the majority, focus on the wild minority … that’s been the policy for quite some time now.

Koshish meh lagay raho.

Re: [Merged] Denmak in a sorry state

At any rate, how in the world do those Danes get off associating Islam and violence. Dang, even boot licker Fisk cannot ignore the connection.

Fires fanned by Denmark cartoons spread to Lebanon
**By Robert Fisk — **
After Syria, the fires fanned by Denmark’s anti-Prophet cartoons spread to Lebanon with sectarian intensity.
Anger flashing through the Muslim world over the weekend saw protesters burn Danish flags and attack buildings from Lahore to Gaza. The Islamic Army in Iraq, one of the main insurgent groups, made a blood-curdling call for violence against citizens of countries where caricatures of the Prophet Mohamed have been published.
“We swear to God, if we catch one of their citizens in Iraq, we will cut him to pieces, to take revenge for Prophet,” it said in an unverified internet statement
http://www.arabamericannews.com/newsarticle.php?articleid=4385

Let’s face it, the Danes are only guilty of one thing, that is putting into cartoon what a lot of the West thinks.
