mere hamsafar teri nazr hain mere jazba-e-dil ki shiddatein
meri chah, meri sohbatein, mere sajde meri ibadatein
wo jo saath chalne ka khaab tha kahein reh gaya kahein kho gaya
kahein kho gaya mera hamsafar rahi paas ab na wo chahatein

wo gulab they ke khitab they tere harf harf mein khaab they
tera taza khaat bhi mila magar nahi us mein pehli si shidatein

mere chand to hi bata mujhe kahan hai wo mera zamana saaz
kahan thaak ke reh gaya mera karwaan kahan reh gayein meri sangatein

wo jo mausamoun ka habeeb tha, meri pyasi ankh ka khabb tha
wo hi ab bhi mujhe azeez hai kare dil pe ab bhi hakomatein!
