So what items go with haleem? I personally like haleem on its own…without nan or rice. But I have guests coming over. What else do I make with it? ![]()
I need suggestions. Please and thank you.

Re: Menu with Haleem
It's confusing what to add on a haleem menu.
I always end up making a meat dish plus some sort of rice.
Re: Menu with Haleem
i like naan with haleem.. plus you can have a chicken dish like qorma or fried.. an one vegetable dish like palak kofta or aloo methi.
Re: Menu with Haleem
When we make Haleem for a dawat or if guests are coming, we usually do:
Haleem (with a selection of nan/crusty bread loaf thickly sliced)
Samosa's (meat) and spring rolls (veg)
Some sort of dry chicken dish (like tandoori/fried/wings)
A veg dish (something like chinese veg noodles/rice)
Also, sometimes if there are a lot of guests, we also make cutlets (meat and veg ones)
For sweet, we tend to have one sweet dish to eat with the meal and one for after...like for eating with the meal we will make mithi sev or soji halwa and for afterwards flan or cheesecake usually goes down well.
Hope this gives you some ideas.....makes me want to throw a dawat!!!
Re: Menu with Haleem
i usually like haleem with nan only no other dish , but in parties i usaully bake chicken or any dish like chicken karahi, steam vage are agood idea too, only serve sliced green chillies ,corriender leaves lemon, and brown onion with it ,no need of salad.and yes offcourse adessert is must .
Re: Menu with Haleem
with haleem
i make
chicken karahi it wil do well with naans too
chops roast
and same sabzi like bagary bengan or khatti allo bhujia
Actually they all go well with naans and don't need to make rice because i think rice don't work with haleem
Re: Menu with Haleem
whenever i have guests over...i always have both roti/naan and rice too....
and something to go with both of them....like some gravy salan (quorma/meatball salan /spinach salan) to go with rice and haleem for the roti/naan....
so whatever and however anyone wants to eat ,they can...
i hope i made sense...:)
and btw...send me over some haleem please..:D
Re: Menu with Haleem

Re: Menu with Haleem

Re: Menu with Haleem
Thanks for all the ideas guys! I just wanna keep it simple. So maybe I'll either bake some chicken, or make chicken kharahi/another dish to go with the nan. Still gotta decide on dessert.
AJ, just the regular...fried onions, green chillies, ginger, and some corriander leaves...and lemon/lime on the side.
Re: Menu with Haleem
