MENTORS REQUESTED FOR INTEL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR
Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education working in
collaboration with Intel Pakistan Corporation are holding Science Olympiads to promote interest amongst students of class 9-12 in Science, Maths and Computer. The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair is the world’s largest pre-college science competition in the world. Students from public and private schools and colleges of classes 9-12 will be participating in the Science Olympiads.
Roles and responsibilities of Mentors:
- We require Scientists of PhD / M Phil level in the fields of:
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
Biology
Computer Science - Mentors are to act as guide/ facilitators for students
- Mentors would be required to attend all Student Mentor Workshops (2-3) arranged by Intel for the Science Olympiad.
- Besides the Workshops students will also be meeting or contacting the mentors via telephone and email in their own work place at a time suitable to them.

Punjab: 34 districts
NWFP- Peshawar and Abbotabad
Balauchistan- Quetta
Sindh- Karachi
Time Lines:
Punjab Divisional Olympiads September October 2004
(to be conducted in 8 divisional headquarters for participants from 34
districts )
Provincial Olympiads November 2004
(To be held in 4 provincial headquarters and ICT viz. Karachi, Peshawar,
Quetta, Lahore and Islamabad)
National Olympiad December 2004
(Winners of Provincial Olympiads to compete)
Intel International Science and Engineering Fair May 2005
(To be held in USA where 2 individual and 1 team project will represent
Pakistan)
