Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?
If you’re concerned about being on for your wedding/honeymoon, then I’d advise to go to the doctor and be prescribed the contraceptive pill a few months before the date. That way, you’ll be pretty regular, and if the period falls on a no-no day, you can take 2 pill packets back to back to effectively skip that period.
Although please do go to the doctor to discuss your irregular periods - it could be caused by something else, and don’t assume it’ll ‘go away after marriage’. Also, take a look at this, see if you have any other symptoms that match up. Periods, Irregular - NHS Choices
Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?

Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?
I don't see how this is specifically a problem for a bride. Are you worried about conceiving after marriage?
Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?
^ I imagine it could be nto wanting to have your period fall on the wedding day/week.
I had mine on the honeymoon :hinna:
Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?
^Yeah, just trying to figure out what the concern is, so it can be appropriately addressed.
Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?

Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?

i am getting married end of august and the dates are clashing with my on days.. what should i do , in order to skip one - two months ? as i will be busy in post wedding dinners / honeymoon and international travel.

Wedding end of August.......you need to see a gyn and start birth control pills asap.
Will BCP's, you take pills for 3 weeks....on the 4th week.....you skip the pills and that's when you have your period. Then you start a new pack of pills after the 4th week. If you want to skip the period, you immediately start a new pack of pills after the 3rd week.
Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?
I had mine on the wedding day, uncomfortable to say the least with all the clothes, makeup and jewellery. But apart from that not too bad ![]()
menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?
Pills are not the only option, there are other contraceptives that would be effective.
Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?
@ sahar...u r right i have actually not made my concern very clear here...
well the dilemma is that i had been diagnosed with PCOS 3 4 yrs back...i dint mention it before because i sort of feel bad and low and quite isolated that i have this problem although every other girl has normal periods...but surprisingly, recently i have come across so many of my friends with PCOS caused menstrual irregularities....
well i went to doc 2 months back she prescribed me BCP Diane 35 alongthwith glucophage for like 3 months upto july then i will see her again in august for further prescription...im getting married in october....at the moment im not worried about wether periods fall on wedding day or not...may main concern and worry is that i just want my periods to be regular.... i am so afraid of having conceiving problem afterwards....hubby dont want baby immediately after wedding like not before 1 or one and half years...but still i want my periods to be regular... does PCOS always create conceiving hinderance..or thing like that...any way other than medicine to improve it? HELPPPPPPP
Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?
im seriiously looking for any helppp on this...do u know anyone who had PCOS and did not have any pregnancy problem?
Re: menstrual irregularities- a big concern for a bride-to-be?
There is a similar thread going on in parenting forum.
PCOS can cause menstrual irregularities and troubles when trying to conceive. But when properly tackled, getting pregnant is not impossible. It might be difficult and there is a chance you would want to try for months before you concieve. But the good thing is that you already know what the issue is,and can take appropriate measure after marriage.
And don’t feel bad about it.PCOS is a pretty common thing, although different women have different set of issues…:huigz:
