found this online. interesting stuff, not sure how many men really follow these rules, but it’s still an entertaining read.
Do you follow any of these rules?
women..would you want your men to follow these (seemingly strict) rules?

Re: Men's style rules
30 out of 55. Not bad at all CM. Not bad at all. But then again they are right that you learn to dress yourself by looking at your father. All the suits issues are covered since I grew up watching my dad wear them. The wrist watch, the expensive fountain pen etc.
Re: Men’s style rules
I LOL’ed at #34 :sid:
Follow most but need to improve on 54 and 55, still have some items that don't get worn much but I like them so I keep them.
Rule 30 is a little silly now, not completely false but the white and blue shirt is not and has not been the same for years in most settings.

much of this applies across genders.....

I was thinking about that. It seems the rules for women are somewhat more relaxed, and there's always many many more choices for women than men.
and some of htese rules are pretty rigid. Outside of Mad Men/Suits, I dont' know many men who take that much care in their appearance (not that either one is bad!!!)
Sara, depends on individuals. In NYC I think a lot of guys dress very well compared to most cities in US. ( I am looking at you all the red states)
The thing is that anyone can be a bum, and it's not too difficult to be dressed formally, it's easy.
What separates people who really have a good sense of style is can they look good while dressed casually.

you know my husband.....he's anal about it.
and he insists that guys on this side of the pond care even less........
